To force an appreciation in the RMB cannot resolve U.S. deficit or unemployment.Zhong noted that given the large scale, broad scope and rapid development of the China-U.S. bilateral economic and trade cooperation, frictions and problems are inevitable."As long as the two sides stick to a strategic and long-term approach to our economic and trade ties and appropriately handle trade frictions through communication and consultation, we can find common grounds and shelf differences and constantly further the bilateral economic and trade relations."

The increase renewed the U.S. call for a stronger yuan as it claimed the current exchange rate gives Chinese goods unfair price advantages.Su said although yuan has gained more than 20 percent since it depegged the U.S. dollars in June 2005, China's trade surplus tripled from 100 billion U.S. dollars in 2004 to nearly 300 billion U.S. dollars in 2008.In addition, he argued, a weaker U.S. dollar does not help cut the U.S. deficit. GUIYANG, March 14 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from a partial collapse of an unfinished building Sunday in southwest China's Guizhou Province has risen to seven, the rescue headquarters said.A mold supporting structure in the corridor between two halls at the International Conference and Exhibition Center under construction in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou, collapsed at around 11:30 a.m., burying workers working at the area, said a spokesman for the rescue headquarters.Rescuers found 26 workers who were rushed to hospital. Seven of the workers were proclaimed dead shortly upon arrival at hospital, one more seriously injured.Altogether seven remained hospitalized, and another 12 were discharged from hospital after some treatment.The police were investigating the cause of the accident.
