MACAO -- The management committee of Macao chief executive election will strictly follow the legal provisions and apply the law in a fair, transparent, efficient and loyal manner during the upcoming election, the special administrative region (SAR) government news release quoted the committee's president as saying on Thursday. Song Man Lei, the president of SAR chief executive election management committee, told the press that the aim of the management committee is fulfilling its duties and working in the fifth election of the chief executive, including the election of members of the chief executive's election committee. According to the Basic Law of the Macao SAR, the chief executive, with a five-year tenure for each term, shall be elected by a 400-member committee.
