CANBERRA, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- Queensland mining magnate Clive Palmer said Saturday his company has secured Australia's largest coal export deal with China.The Resourcehouse chairman said the company had reached a 20-year agreement with one of China's largest power companies, China Power International Development, the flagship company of China Power Investment Corporation (CPI)."This deal with CPI is Australia's biggest ever export contract," Palmer said in a statement."This is Australia's largest single, non-syndicated, finance deal and the interest from China highlights the strength of the project and the benefits for Queensland and Australia in developing a new world class coal region such as the Galilee Basin," he told reporters."There will be four underground mines and two open cut mines," he said.Meanwhile, Queensland Premier Anna Bligh said there was some environmental red tape to negotiate before the project was approved but she did not expect any last-minute problems."It is world demand which is making it a commercial opportunity," Bligh said.More than 100 million additional tons of coal could be exported every year from Queensland because of new projects under consideration by the state government.

The remaining wild tigers are presumed to live in the remote areas of Guangdong, Hunan, Fujian and Jiangxi provinces, Deng Xuejian said.Based on analysis of relevant date combining field investigation, Deng estimated the number of wild South China tigers could be less than 10.No traces of wild South China tigers were reported in Hunan in the last two years, said Zhou Shuhuai, director of wildlife protection section of the Hunan provincial forestry bureau."The number is limited and the tigers scatter in different areas, which make it difficult for natural breeding between wild tigers," said Huang Gongqing, a tiger expert at South China Tiger Breeding Base in Suzhou, a city of east China's Jiangsu Province."The extinction of the wild tigers will happen sooner or later," Huang warned.Some experts have said that there may be already no wild South China tigers. SHANGHAI, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- China's economic hub Shanghai in December posted the first year-on-year growth in both imports and exports in 14 months, indicating further recovery from the economic downturn, local customs said Sunday.     Last month, Shanghai's foreign trade stood at 30.7 billion U.S. dollars, a growth of 35.3 percent over the same month of 2008. This was the second year-on-year growth of foreign trade in two consecutive months in the city, the sources said.     Exports in particular, which stood at 15.21 billion U.S. dollars, reported the first year-on-year growth of 23.5 percent since November 2008, while imports surged 49.5 percent, up from the 26.7 percent growth rate in the previous month.     Last month saw the city's trade with the European Union, the United States and Japan up 15.4 percent, 36.8 percent and 19.8 percent, respectively.     However, Shanghai's foreign trade in total last year went down 13.8 percent from 2008 to 277.73 billion U.S. dollars due to the economic crisis effect.
