BEIJING, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Health (MOH) on Sunday released an inclusive list of illustrations on medicine use as guidance for doctors in writing prescriptions. It is the first state-level list of its kind in the country.The list illustrates what each kind of medicine should be used for, but it is not mandatory. Medicines on the list include all those on the National Basic Medicine Catalogue and the Catalogue of Drugs for Basic National Medical Insurance, and some other frequently used medicine, the ministry said.Cao Guirong, president of the Chinese Hospital Association, said at the release ceremony that compilation of the list borrowed the experience of developed countries and the World Health Organization (WHO) while taking into account China's geographic features and clinical therapeutic habits.It took two years for more than 100 domestic medical and pharmaceutical experts to complete the list, Cao said. ADDIS ABABA, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- China will lose no time in implementing the "eight new measures" to strengthen China-Africa cooperation in the next three years, said China's Minister of Commerce Chen Deming on Tuesday. The fourth ministerial meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation was held in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on Nov. 8-9. BEIJING, Jan. 31 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese mainland announced Sunday it would extend anti-dumping measures by five years on imports of phenol from Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United States and Taiwan.The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said in a statement posted on its website that it decided to review the measures a year ago in response to applications from domestic phenol companies.According to the MOC, if anti-dumping measures were discontinued, dumping of phenol might continue and would hurt the domestic industry again.However, the MOC did not provide further information concerning what the measures were and when they would take effect.Phenol is a chemical compound used in the production of some medicines, plastics, pesticides and synthetic resins.
