XI'AN -- Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, celebrated its first Farmers' Day on Sunday, commending contributions to the region's agricultural and rural development.
Xi said China insists on maintaining peace and stability on the peninsula, and said all sides should strictly abide by UN Security Council resolutions.
Xi said China and Myanmar are traditionally friendly neighbors and in recent years, have seen high-level exchanges. They have expanded practical cooperation, promoted people-to-people exchanges and coordinated multilateral ties, contributing to regional peace and prosperity.
Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted blockchain last week as a core technology, urging more efforts to accelerate the development of blockchain technology and industrial innovation.
Xi made the remark during talks with his Panamanian counterpart, Juan Carlos Varela, in Panama City. Xi's state visit to the Central American country is the first by a Chinese head of state. The two countries established diplomatic relations in June 2017.
Xi asked relevant departments to sort, analyze and absorb the comments, and urged further efforts to use the internet to listen to the people's voices.

Xi has taken the lead. In the four years since he became general secretary, reform has emerged as a hallmark of his administration. Xi's first trip outside Beijing as the leader of the CPC, in 2012, was to Guangdong province, which has been at the forefront of China's decadeslong reform and opening-up drive.

Xi made the remark when he inspected the Jinhuayuan Community in Wuzhong, a city in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region.
Xi also urged society to better promote the spirit of the heroes and role models in the public security forces as part of an effort to better promote socialist core values.
