He called for focusing on people — the most vulnerable, low-wage workers in small and medium-sized enterprises, which means "wage support, insurance, social protection, preventing bankruptcies and job loss", he said.
He made the remark in a congratulatory message to participants in activities organized by the 48 Group Club commemorating the 65th anniversary of the "ice-breaking trip" to China made by a group of farsighted people from the British business community.
He called on Chinese businesses to jointly promote high-quality development within the region covered by the Belt and Road Initiative, improve livelihoods, and bolster the building of a community of shared future for mankind.
He further said that the cultural exchanges have served as a bridge linking the workers from both sides, who have cultivated friendship.
